When to get tested

Use the online Self-Assessment tool to find out if you can get tested and where 
Effective Dec 31, 2021, publicly-funded PCR testing will only be available for: 
* high-risk individuals who are symptomatic and/or are at risk of severe illness from COVID-19 
* purposes of confirming a COVID-19 diagnosis to begin treatment 
* workers and residents in the highest risk settings 
* vulnerable populations 
Members of the general public with mild symptoms are asked not to seek testing.

If you are not eligible for a test but have symptoms of COVID-19, assume that you have the virus and visit for isolation instructions 

Where to get tested

Home testing is available for clients with a physical or mental disability and are unable to get to a testing facility. Clients should speak to their health care provider for a referral for home COVID-19 testing. 
Rapid Antigen Testing (RATS) 
* may be used for routine, repeated screening of people with no symptoms to identify and prevent cases of COVID-19 in hospitals, long-term care and retirement homes, and other high-risk settings as an added layer of safety 
* may also be used to test people with symptoms to find out the likelihood that their symptoms are related to COVID-19 
* if you get a positive result on a rapid antigen test, it is a good indication that you have COVID-19, you no longer need to book a PCR test to confirm your results
