Description (Service) | Services altered in response to COVID-19 (Coronavirus) City staff continue to work remotely and are ready to assist the community in the delivery of as many services as possible * for information and updates on City services, including what’s open and closed visit burlington.ca/coronavirus -------------------- Funding is available to support the following areas: * diversity: embracing, celebrating and recognizing difference within the community * civic interests: events or service promoting Burlington * place making: creating public spaces that promote health and well being * sport: team-based activities to enhance well being * recreation: activities to promote healthy and active living * environment: proactive initiatives to support a healthy environment * culture: program and services that support the development of arts and culture Programs include: Community Support Fund (CSF): provides financial support to residents and community groups who want to enrich and connect the Burlington community through sport, recreation, art and cultural experiences Walk the Talk: program created to inspire Burlington residents to take action and commit to active and healthy lifestyle by creating, promoting and participating in neighbourhood walking groups Community Development Fund: available to support community organizations on a one-time only basis in building capacity to provide programs, services and events for the residents of Burlington Facility Fee Waiver: one-time waiver available to offset a portion of the rental fee for a facility permitted through the City of Burlington utilized by non-profit organizations offering a program, service or event for Burlington residents Neighbourhood Rinks: partnership with local residents to support neighbourhood outdoor rinks in city parks Play Street: offers the opportunity for weekly, local street closures which encourage the use of neighbourhood streets for safe, active play and social interaction between neighbours of all ages Recreation Fee Assistance: financial assistance to support registered or drop-in programs offered directly by the City Non-city funding programs include: * Ontario Trillium Foundation * Jumpstart * Building Canada |
