Description (Service) | Organization that offers help to amputees of all ages, through its programs Main programs and services: * Key Tag and Address Label Service: A sheltered workshop where war amputees could not only work for competitive wages * Address Label Service provides year-round employment for the disabled staff at the Key Tag Service * Child Amputee (CHAMP) Program: Financial assistance for artificial limbs, regional seminars and peer support * CHAMP Seminars: Regional seminars every year to bring together child amputees and their parents * National Amputee Centre (NAC): Educates amputees and their families about all aspects of amputation * information from all over the world is shared with amputees and the prosthetic industry in Canada * Advocacy: Educates amputees on their rights and helps them access important financial and health-care benefits * PLAYSAFE / DRIVESAFE Programs: Kids-to-kids approach to safety awareness where, through parades, public service messages and videos, CHAMP youngsters become Safety Ambassadors * Adult Amputee Program: Provides financial assistance towards the cost of artificial limbs |
