Description and Service Details
Description (Service) High Efficiency Toilet Rebate Program:
* $75 rebate for purchase of Water Sense certified toilets, installed in Halton Region - limited to one rebate per household
* check website for details
Outdoor water use:
* during the summer months residential water use increases with the added demands of lawn watering, filling and maintaining swimming pools and car washing
* this seasonal increase is known as Peak Summer Demand
* when indicators show that the water system is stressed the Region will issue a change in outdoor water use restriction level
Tips for wise outdoor water use include:
* water lawns only once a week, early in the morning between 6 am-10 am to minimize water lost to evaporation
* avoid watering lawns during or after rainfall
* if you have an automatic irrigation system, ensure it is designed, installed and maintained to avoid over-watering or coming on in the rain
* sweep driveways rather than wash them
* shut off water while soaping up cars then turn it on again to rinse
* visit the website for more information on conserving water outside and inside the home, and current status of an outdoor watering ban or water restrictions
