| Description | The Civitan Club of Oakville is a member of Civitan International, a worldwide service organization dedicated to community service, knowledge, and fellowship. The Oakville Civitan Club is a non-profit service volunteer club whose major fundraising is for people with developmental or physical disabilities * scholarships for students based on needs * bursaries for needy students in each Oakville high school and Sheridan College * High school students sent to Youth Seminars in Michigan yearly. Members are involved in various fundraising projects, such as Bingos, Civitan Charity Golf Tournament, Claxton Fruit Cake Sales, and the Civitan Farmers' Market at Hopedale Mall. Special Events: Civitan Awareness Week held annually in April. Charities supported by the Oakville Civitan Club include: Camp Trillium, Canadian Mental Health Association, CNIB, Community Living Oakville * Food For Life * Ian Anderson House * Mom's Camp * Halton Women's Place * Kerr St Ministries * March of Dimes * Oakville Distress Centre * Reach Our for Kids * Salvation Army * White Oaks Secondary School Futures Program. New members are always welcome. | ||
