Description (Service)

The Enhanced Basement Flooding Prevention Subsidy program offers financial support for residents who make home improvements that can help reduce the risk of basement flooding during severe wet weather There are four subsidy programs available:

  • Downspout Disconnection: 100% subsidy, up to a maximum of $500
  • Sump Pump Installation, combined with weeping tile disconnection: 100% subsidy, up to a maximum of $5,000
  • Backwater Valve Installation: 50% subsidy, up to a maximum of $675
  • Sewer Lateral (pipe) lining or repair: 50% subsidy, up to a maximum of $2,000

Application

Apply to a program:

  1. Download the application and the waiver forms from the website
  2. Follow additional steps pertinent to each different subsidy program
  3. Submit a completed application and waiver form, along with the required documentation outlined on the application form, using one of the methods listed below

Residents are encouraged to send applications by email or by mail:

  • Scan and email to basementfloodingsubsidy@halton.ca
  • Upload larger files, such as CCTV video, to the online Dropbox platform OR

  • Place the application form in the drop-box available at the front of Halton Regional Centre, located at 1151 Bronte Road, Oakville
