| Description | The park consists of over 10km of multi-purpose trails, 11 picnic shelters, a turn-of-the-century living history museum (Spruce Lane Farmhouse), nature centre, 144 electric service campsites, children's playbarn, 1.8 acre pool, Olympic size skating rink and a farm Campground (April to October): 144 electrical sites * showers * flush toilets * play areas * group camping * kids programs * reservations recommended Day use and trails (open all year except Christmas Day): * Fishing (see Ontario Fishing Regulations for seasons) * Garden plots (50 plots, 4.5m x 9m available for rent on an annual basis) * Hiking trails * Leash-free designated exercise areas for dogs * Outdoor sports facilities (paved rollerblading path, 18-hole Frisbee golf course, basketball courts, baseball diamond) * Winter activities (toboggan hill, trails for cross-country skiing) Nature Centre (May-September): educational facility with animals, honeybee hives, and other natural wonders * school group education programs Outdoor Ice Rink (mid-December to last Sun in February): recreation complex with lighted artificial skating rinks Outdoor Swimming Pool (last Sat in June to Labour Day): one of the largest man-made swimming pools in North America * lifeguards on duty Park Store (open during pool and rink season, otherwise closed): sells merchandise and rents equipment such as rollerblades, skates and skate aids Picnic Areas and Shelters (open all year except Christmas Day): many picnic tables and 11 shelters with a barbecue on site * shelters can be reserved from January onward for use between mid-June and September 30 Playbarn and Children’s Farm (open all year except Christmas Day): for ages 10 and under to jump, slide, swing and climb * call ext 288 to reserve for school and youth groups Spruce Lane Farmhouse (Victoria Day weekend in May to September): museum built in 1899 * school group education programs offered Annual events: March: Maple Syrup Festival May: Spring Tyme August: Farm Day September: British Car Day October: Camper Halloween December: Homestead Christmas and New Year's Eve Coyote Howl For directions and additional information on the education and research programs supported by the Friends of Bronte Creek refer to website | ||
