* helps people affected by emergencies and disasters (situations ranging from a house fire to a flood that disrupts an entire region)  
* ensures people's basic needs are met, for food, shelter, clothing, first aid, emotional support, and family reunification 
Canadian Red Cross International Efforts  
* works in partnership with other members of the Red Cross Movement in emergency relief operations to bring relief supplies to victims, reunite families, help communities get back on their feet, manage longer term development and rehabilitation programs
