Description (Service) | Services altered in response to COVID-19 (Coronavirus) The TRIEC Mentoring Partnership is continuing during the pandemic with pairs meeting virtually. Access to Sheridan campuses is limited and proof of vaccination is required. For further information see Sheridan website -------------------------------------------- The TRIEC Mentoring Partnership matches immigrant professionals (mentees) with an established professional from the same profession (mentors) * for 1.5 hours weekly over a 3 month period the mentor acts as a resource to facilitate access to Canadian experience, skills and connections * program is a community partner of the Toronto Region Immigrant Employment Council (TRIEC) * visit the website for further information |

Eligibility | Criteria for Mentors: * worked for at least two years in your field in Canada * want to share your industry knowledge with others * want to develop professionally * thinking about your professional legacy Criteria for Mentees: * at least 2 years of international work experience in their area of expertise * lived in Canada for less than 5 years * limited or no Canadian work experience in their profession * English skills required to perform effectively in the workplace * minimum of a bachelor’s degree – or equivalent post-secondary education from outside of Canada * eligible to work in Canada * currently unemployed or underemployed (not working in their field of expertise) * actively seeking work in their field * resume writing, interviewing and networking skills (this training is provided) |
