Description (Service) | * Eight ensembles * perform several concerts annually * perform at workshops * make guest appearances at community functions * collaborate with other choirs in Ontario Programs include: Little Voices * for girls and boys JK-Grade 1 * fun and enriching introduction to choral singing through song, games, rhythm and Orff instruments Raise Her Voice, Cherub * for girls in grades 2-4 * children are introduced to basics of choral singing and music theory * weekly one-hour rehearsal * weekly musicianship and theory * several annual performances including self produced concerts * no out-of-town travel * Cherub choristers may expect to miss an average of two half-days of school Raise Her Voice, Junior * for girls in grade 4 and up * choir rehearses weekly for 1.25 hours * weekly theory and musicianship programs * participates in all OCC concerts, choral retreats and workshop * performs at several community events * participates in competitions with some traveling within Ontario Raise Her Voice * for girls in grade 7 and up * members are required to have sight singing skills and vocal experience * weekly two-hour rehearsals, sectionals, theory, individual vocal coaching and musicianship programs * begins each season with the annual choral retreat weekend * choristers must commit to numerous local and out-of-town performance opportunities * undertakes a major tour every other year Raise Her Voice, Chamber * a select group of choristers from the Senior Choir who have attained a higher level of vocal skill and musicianship * members are frequently called upon to serve as ambassadors for the community and leaders within the organization * small group which performs extensively and receives more opportunities to travel A Few Good Men * for grade 4 and up * for boys and young men including singers with changed voices * provides the opportunity to continue singing in a safe, supportive and exciting environment * rehearsals intersperse time spent on singing technique and repertoire * team building activities focusing on creating strong camaraderie between the boys and young men who will provide mentorship in the ensemble A Few Good Men in Training * boys in grades 1-4 * lays the vocal and musical foundation boys need in order to thrive in A Few Good Men * focus is placed on helping boys begin to develop a strong vocal technique and learn basic theory rudiments * safe, supportive and fun environment * team building activities focusing on creating strong camaraderie between the boys Fewer Good Men * a select group of Tenors and Bases from the A Few Good Men Choir who have attained a higher level of vocal skill and musicianship * small group which receives performance opportunities within the community |
