Description (Service) The Centre for Innovation in Peer Support supports, offered in a virtual setting in direct response to physical distancing measures implemented to prevent the spread of Covid-19 

Online Peer-led Support Groups

* up to date calendar of groups is available on website 
 
Social Connections
  • no registration required, open to anyone 16+ in Ontario 
  • offering opportunities to connect socially over a virtual platform 
  • topics include: Mindful Moments, The Centre Café, The Sharing Circle and The Games Room
Self-Help Drop-In
  • requires a brief pre-registration for participation, open to anyone 16+ in Ontario 
  • explore in a safe, stigma free environment and develop wellness tools 
  • groups include: Well BEing, Navigating Stress & Anxiety and Daily Wellness Planning

One-to-One Peer Supports

Peer Support Navigation
  • offers one-to-one peer support appointments via phone/teleconference 
  • sometimes, exploring new supports feels uncomfortable, Peer Support Navigators will support your needs 
  • Peer Navigation and 1:1 services by phone, text or virtual, Mon-Fri
Peer Warm Line
  • it’s not uncommon to experience feelings of loneliness, anxiety, anger or fear during these times 
  • talk, and be heard by someone able to offer supportive listening 
  • call 289-644-1480, Mon-Fri, 12 noon-5 pm

Virtual System/Partner Offerings

  • weekly on-line Communities of Practice for Peer Support Worker and one for Peer Support Supervisors, open across Ontario 
  • guidelines, manuals & toolkits, open to province 
  • training for peer positions, supervisors, teams and organizations 
  • support for peer program implementation 
  • quality improvement & evaluation support 
  • infrastructure & governance 
  • influencing policy & decision makers
