Description (Service) | A series of supervised exercise and information programs delivered in partnership with area hospitals and health agencies, to help you enhance your health while managing specific chronic health conditions LiveWell programs available at the Ron Edwards Family YMCA in Burlington include: Balance+ LiveWell Free, 12-week program offered in partnership with Home and Community Care Support Services) * two group exercise sessions each week to help build strength, balance, flexibility and endurance and reduce the risk of falls Gentlefit LiveWell Designed for individuals suffering from chronic joint or bone issues and to optimize health pre/post joint replacement Healthy Hearts LiveWell Cardiac care program offers patients three streams of supervised exercise and education based on their stage of rehabilitation * program is included with YMCA membership * doctor's referral note required Hydrotherapy LiveWell Rehabilitative exercises at your own pace, using a variety of equipment like water weights or flotation belts * ideal for those with hip, knee, bone & joint issues or other medical conditions * open to everyone InMotion Designed for people with chronic bone and joint health problems such as osteoporosis and arthritis * also appropriate for those wanting to improve their health before and after having hip or knee replacement surgery * physician's approval is strongly recommended Walkfit Gentle, low-impact workout that uses Activator walking poles, to reduce impact on joints and improve the strength and coordination of upper body * doctor's referral is required |
