Adult Learning Centre, Literacy and Basic Skills

Volunteer tutors are matched 1:1 with an adult learner for a 2-3 hour lesson, once per week at a designated LNH learning site.   Sessions run in 12-week blocks from September to June.   Intake is continuous.  The volunteer tutor plans and delivers lesson activities based on the learning plan and resources provided.

Opportunities are available for tutoring reading & writing and/or basic math.

Volunteers can select the hours they are available within the program schedule, understanding they must be available at least one of:

  • Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday morning 
  • Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday afternoon
  • Tuesday evening

We offer a mix of in-person events as well as the opportunity to volunteer online through our Social Media Subcommittee.

The Role:

Re-Imagine Ontario is seeking a very strong candidate to help us expand our efforts across Halton-Peel, by creating and developing our presence on Instagram/Facebook/Twitter/TikTok/ Blogging and others. This is an opportunity to use your social media savvy to help a small organization grow and to gain valuable experience as well.

What you will be responsible for:
