The Futures Amazing Race is a 3 week program for youth ages 14-17 and 2 week program for youth ages 10-14. The program is going to be an exciting way to show and teach our youth valuable life skills in a fun and hands-on way.  
 
Youth are divided into teams to work together and meet the challenges set out each day. It will be up to the youth to problem solve to win the RACE. The race is part of the whole camp experience and each day youth have the opportunity to win points and prizes as they complete each task and get closer to the final challenge.  
 
The race includes trip to Toronto, Hamilton and Burlington. Volunteers join our specially trained counsellors and assist in all areas of the camp program. Energy, patience, and a keen sense of humour are the key qualifications for this role. This position is especially rewarding for students who are thinking of a career in social work or teaching.

The Canadian Open will be taking place from July 23- 29, 2018 at Glen Abbey Golf Club, Oakville and we are also looking for volunteers to help with the corral throughout the week! The bike corral is home to about 400 bikes per day throughout the Canadian Open. Volunteers assist with the organization of the corral, and to make the transition smooth! 
 
Due to the nature of this service, enthusiasm and the ablility to lift a standard bike (approximately 30lbs) are required.

Visits can be weekly or every 2 weeks for as little as one hour total time commitment for an in home visit or a couple of hours if you care to take them to an activity in which you share an interest (coffee & shopping, an art show, live music, shopping, bowling or even for a walk by the lake) . By volunteering you may also be providing some much-needed support to a caregiver or family member simply by visiting one of our wonderful clients.
