|Youth Programs||Halton Healthcare Services, Oakville - 327 Reynolds St - Oakville-Trafalgar Memorial Hospital, Oakville-Trafalgar Memorial Hospital - Volunteer Services||The Hospital administers a Fall/Winter Youth after school program and in weekends for students aged 14 to 18 years of age. They provide help in various area of the hospital particularly in-patient services.
One 2-3 hour shift per week. More than one shift is possible.
|Community Education Committee Volunteer||Learning Disabilities Association of Halton||Be part of a team to help set up and run various educational events for the agency. This can include receiving registrants as they arrive, setting up chairs, setting up beverage service for the event or cleaning up and taking down chairs.
Included in this role is participation in a community outreach project where volunteers will work to establish a contact database with individual schools within both the HDSB ad HCDSB to ensure our information reaches community parents. Access to email and phone are necessary.
|ReStore - Merchandising||Habitat for Humanity Halton, Burlington||Position Duties:
• Ensure the merchandise is presented in a tidy, clean and organized manner to encourage sales
• Responsible to know what merchandise is currently on the shelves
• Be able to respond to customer inquiries regarding merchandise when needed;
• Assist with loading and unloading donated merchandise from/to customers’ vehicles;
• Actively approach customers to help them find items they are looking for;
• Be courteous, respectful and professional to both the customer and your fellow volunteers;
• Train and provide support to all new volunteers as required;
• Ensure work area is clean, tidy and safe at all times;
• Assist in providing information on Habitat for Humanity and making referrals when appropriate;
• Other duties as required.

|Hospital Youth Volunteers||Halton Healthcare Services, Milton - Milton District Hospital||Youth volunteers (high school students) assist in chronic care, medical surgical and obstetrics wards, offering meal tray support, friendly visiting and helping out staff on the patient unit. Youth can also be placed on the information desk, or those 16 years of age and older can volunteer in the Gift Shop. |Special Events Volunteers||Halton Women's Place, Unpublished, Emergency Shelter and Crisis Services||Volunteers will assist with special events that either raise awareness about Halton Women's Place in the community or assist by volunteering to plan or help at fundraisers such as Gala Dinner Auction, Golf Tournaments, Polar Bear Swim, car-washes, BBQ's, etc.
Gala Committee members needed for monthly meetings September to March. Assist with sponsorship, ticket sales, and auction item solicitation.
