Start2Finish, Running & Reading Club

The Start2Finish Running & Reading Club is a fun after-school program that encourages literacy, healthy active living, and play. The program runs from October to May one afternoon a week for two hours. Volunteers support students in various fitness and reading activities. As a result, students stay in school, build self-confidence and develop positive friendships with mentors and peers. With mentor Coaches, students discover the possibilities of a brighter future.

Information to highlight:

  • Children in the Running & Reading Club are 6 -13 years old; from grades 1-6
  • You do not have to be a runner to volunteer, there is something for everyone!

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Participating with children in fitness activities
  • Reading with children
  • Help to serve snack
  • Leading literacy activities
  • Some administration

Are you eager to make a positive impact on the world? We're on the lookout for passionate volunteers like you to be our beta testers and help shape the future of our exciting new personal growth  program, PowerSeekers. The program is designed to help young adults who care about the fragile state of our planet build confidence and develop personal skills for success while strengthening their connection to nature. PowerSeekers prioritizes personal growth, environmental conservation, and social justice to create a more compassionate world. We focus on 4 key issues: (1) how we treat nature, (2) how we treat animals, (3) how we treat ourselves, and (4) how we treat each other. We create opportunities for our members to become active agents of positive social and environmental change in their communities turning their passion into action. Volunteer BETA Testers will be on the forefront of change blazing the trail to help bring this exciting new program to life in Canada.

Volunteer Responsibilities:

  • Work through self-guided educational material each week over the course of 30 days.

  • Provide a review of our materials each week by filling out a short feedback form.

  • Attend weekly feedback meetings with our team to discuss your experience as a BETA tester.
