These are some the of the duties our volunteers perform: 
 
-Shopping for food for our programs. 
-On-line ordering of food for our programs. 
-Preparing meals and snacks for students to eat; most programs do not involve cooking, but most have some cutting of fresh fruits and vegetables and minimal preparation of other food items. 
-Setting up for food service which can include setting up chairs and tables, cleaning the eating and food preparation surfaces and putting out dishes and food.  
-Post-program clean up; this can include doing dishes, putting food away, cleaning tables and putting away chairs. 
-Monthly reporting and financial tracking; this involves working with school staff to obtain account balances and submitting totals to HFFT each month.

Volunteers drive clients to and from dining locations and can participate in the meal. A social outing for shut-in seniors every other week. Outing includes transportation by volunteers, if needed, to a local restaurant.

Oakville Senior Citizens Residence
Volunteer will assist in the Healthy Living Programs/Volunteer Department with seniors' programs and duties as assigned.  
Provide office assistance, helping with activities and programs, telephone, friendly visiting, reading, library, computer, friendly escort to appointments, refreshment server, etc. Assignments will be based on volunteer skills and interests and department need.
Canadian Cancer Society, Halton Community Office, Cancer Support Services
In your role, you will be helping the Canadian Cancer Society raise funds for cancer research and support for people living with cancer, family members and friends. Your strong leadership skills and organizational guidance will lead the committee to reaching not only the financial goal but also to strengthen the fight against cancer. 
 
• Work collaboratively with your Canadian Cancer Society staff partner and the Relay For Life committee members, providing leadership support and guidance in planning and holding this event. 
• Serve as an ambassador and spokesperson for the Canadian Cancer Society and Relay For Life at team rallies, community events and on event day, as well as by providing weekly updates to committee members and staff partners. 
• Encourage strong communication channels by being responsive to inquiries from your staff partner and the committee leads and providing weekly updates. 
• Identify and assist with any gaps or areas for growth with your staff partner and the committee leads. 
• Work with your staff partner to facilitate the post-event wrap up and event evaluation process. 
• As event ambassador, promote online participant and team registrations, participant fundraising, and community sponsorships, as well as volunteer participation for the event success. 
 
The Chair/Co Chair in collaboration with the staff partner will organize and lead monthly meetings. Additional time to achieve specific outcomes may be required, and at times, sub-committee support. Committed to providing hands-on leadership throughout the actual day of event.
