Comments | Recycling Revisited is a Registered not-for-profit organization. We are in our 8th year after reviving our original organization which pioneered recycling in Canada (1970-1983). That early organization had the name "Citizens' Committee for Pollution Control" (CCPC). Our new name as a registered Non-Profit is "Recycling Revisited Inc." Our Mission is to keep the CCPC story alive in public memory, for the purpose of inspiring citizens to take action on their current concerns about the environment in these days of climate change. We have a Board, a Development Committee, Subcommittees, Volunteers and a group of CCPC veterans called "Friends of Recycling Revisited".

Duties | With a collaborator to share your responsibility, we need you to be observant about the way we are communicating with the public, volunteers, committees and subcommittees. Your observations and suggestions will assist us in maintaining positive, respectful, effective ways of communicating. If needed, we will create a subcommittee to share your work. You and your collaborator would need the maturity and objectivity to share your perceptions and suggestions. You would not have the responsibility for taking action to solve problems. That would be the job of the Board, in consultation with you. You would not be in a sort of "policing" position, but a helpful overseer to keep us on track with our ways of dealing with each other and our projects efficiently, respectfully, and democratically. All volunteers are invited to attend the Development Committee/Planning Committee meetings on a drop-in or regular basis. You would need to attend various kinds of meeting on a rotation, to get a feel for how effective our communications are in all modes of communication including social media. Almost all meetings are held in the evening, in Aldershot area of Burlington. You would be volunteering within the general direction of the Board, but would have a great deal of discretion and flexibility. We are doing our best to have every member with a commitment or duty to have a collabortor so that if a member became sick or was absent, the collaborator could step into the responsibility for the time of absence. You might have an acquaintance who you would be comfortable to collaborate with, if he or she would agree to join us.
