Duties Facilitation of open-ended peer support groups, in-person and online, for bereaved children, youth and their adult parents/caregivers

Clients Children (3-12 years old), youth (13-19 years old), who are grieving the death of a parent or sibling. Adult parents/caregivers of participating children & youth who are grieving the death of a spouse/partner or child.

Seasons Spring ; Fall ; Winter ; Support groups run 3 hours bi-weekly from September to June. Day of week is dependent on volunteer's availability and programming needs

To facilitate peer support groups a one-year commitment is required. In-person groups are held at our centre in Oakville. Virtual group facilitator opportunities are also available
Training Orientation ; Training is provided ; Scheduled training ; Training on the job ; Training on-going ; All volunteers must complete the 3-4 day training program provided at our centre. Training sessions run usually 3 times per year over weekends in: September, and late winter. Ongoing training opportunities and support is provided
Transportation Near public transit ; Car required ; Volunteers must provide their own transportation. Our location is on a bus route.
