|Comments||The AGB is the champion of Fine Art and Craft in Burlington. We house the largest collection of Canadian Contemporary Ceramics in the world. We are continually seeking enthusiastic docents to deliver the exhibitions to our community and visitors.|

|Duties||Docents at the AGB bring appreciation of our exhibitions and collections to our visitors through one-on-one as well as small group interaction in the gallery and during tours. Docents are assigned a weekly shift in the gallery during which they answer visitor questions, provide information about the exhibit, works and artists. Docents are also required to lead tours for school groups ( both children & teens), special needs groups and adult groups. Docents sign-up to lead a tours as needed based on their availability.|

We are always looking for volunteers interested in being docents. There is no specific number required as the more we have, the more flexibility we have during popular vacation times and during busy visit times.
|Training||Monthly 1-hour methodologies are required for training covering the current exhibitions. Additionally, trainees are required to shadow experienced docents in both the gallery and touring role prior to assuming these roles independently.|
|Additional Requirements||- Volunteers who are new to the AGB are asked to visit the facility for an interview. |
- We also request a resume, if available, as well as the names of two references.
- Current police checks with vulnerable sector screening are required for adults.
- Gallery membership is also required for long-term adult volunteers.
- Financial assistance is available.
