Duties | The Christmas & Holiday Hampers is an annual program providing food, knitted items and new gifts to children, youth and adults living below the low income cut-off in Hamilton, as well as Halton Region and Brantford-Brant. Drivers: Volunteers are needed to deliver pre-packed hampers to Wesley programs. Volunteers will be using their personal vehicles. Greeter: You will be positioned at front door. Key duties are but not limited to: - Ensuring volunteers sign in and sign out - Informing visitors that the Christmas & Holiday Hampers is not a public program - Some lifting and moving of hampers will be involved Lead Food & Gift Volunteers: You will ensure the inventory is up to date and being communicated to other volunteers. Key duties are but not limited to: - Organize and date items in storage - Move items from storage to tables - Keep a safe work environment - Some lifting and moving of hampers will be involved Hamper Packers: You will assist with the packing of hampers. - This role will be done at tables. Volunteers can sit or stand. - Some lifting and moving of hampers will be involved Movers: You will be responsible for moving donations from vehicles to indoor storage. You will monitor and maintain traffic flow around the Christmas Store, also to endure safe and quick deliveries. Key duties are but not limited to: - Assist with unloading donations from vehicles - Carrying items from outdoors to downstairs storage - Volunteer must be able to lift and carry heavy items Community Pick Ups: Only on days with community pick-ups. You are responsible for confirming identification, give food/gift hampers and help with other duties when there isn’t any hampers to pick up |

Please Note: All volunteers are required to submit proof of full COVID-19 vaccination to Human Resources. In the event that volunteers are unable to get their COVID-19 vaccination, completion of an educational session and weekly antigen testing at their own expense to provide a negative result will be required. |
