CommentsIt's easy to help a Senior remain independent and happy in their own home. Make a new friend by providing your support during a weekly visit. Your time can be spent in the clients home or if you are comfortable, by taking them in your car for a drive, for a coffee, walk by the lake, shopping, a museum visit, live music or any other activity of interest.

DutiesProvide social support for lonely, isolated or frail seniors and adults with limited mobility. 
 
On a weekly or bi-weekly you can visit one of our wonderful clients' in their home. During your visit you can chat over coffee, play a game of cards, visit the library or museum, run some errands together - like grocery shopping...these are just a few ideas. 
 
You'll be helping keep seniors and psychically challenged adults active, independent and happy.

Commitment LengthMedium Term (4 months to 1 year) ; Long Term ; We ask for a minimum 6 month commitment, upon completion of your orientation.  
Visits take place once a week for about 1 hour in the client's home or a few hours if going out in the community. Depending on the client's ability, volunteers may also take the client out for a walk or drive.
Interaction LevelOne-on-one ; One on one with client. Ongoing communication with Program Coordinator.
