DutiesVolunteers are required for the Board of Directors. This is an opportunity for any woman who lives or works in the Region of Halton and would like an opportunity give back to the community. 
The Board of Directors is the legal authority for SAVIS. As a member of the Board a Director acts in a position of trust for the community, is responsible for the effective governance of SAVIS and havs the following duties: 
-To attend and be prepared for monthly board meetings. 
-To prepare for and participate in the discussions and the deliberations of the Board.  
-To be informed and accountable to the funders for the services provided and funds expended. 
-To actively participate in at least one board level sub-committee. 
-To foster a positive working relationship with other Board members, and SAVIS staff. 
-To establish overall long and short term goals, objectives and priorities for SAVIS in meeting the needs of the community. 
-To be informed of the services provided by SAVIS and publicly support them.
