Disciplinary Alternative Education Programs

Elementary or secondary programs or separate schools within the public education system that segregate, contain and attempt to reform disruptive students while providing instruction in core subjects. The programs serve as an alternative to suspension or expulsion, and students typically attend the program/school for specified time periods or until behaviour requirements are met.

Magnet Schools

Elementary or secondary schools within the public education system that offer experimental learning environments or courses that are not available within the regular school curriculum, and which are designed to attract students on a voluntary basis from all parts of a school district without reference to the usual attendance zone rules.
