Programs, often offered by local synchronized swimming clubs, that provide opportunities for people of all ages to learn, become competitive in and enjoy synchronized swimming, a water sport in which swimmers perform choreographed manoeuvers synchronized to music. Included are programs for novices who are interested in recreational swimming and for serious swimmers who want develop the skills necessary to compete. The program may provide instruction in synchronized swimming and may sponsor or make arrangements for swimmers to participate in synchronized swimming competitions. |

Programs that provide structured opportunities for parents to teach their infants and young children to swim. |

| Swimming Competitions | ||||
Competitions that feature freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, butterfly, individual medley, relay and relay medley events of different lengths ranging from 50 to 1500 metres. Events generally take place in Olympic sized pools with a minimum of eight lanes. Included are organizations that sponsor, organize, hold, promote, sell tickets to and publicize the events; provide information about competition schedules; and/or maintain information about current standings. |
