Description (Service) Promotes public and professional awareness of Alzheimer's disease and related dementias

Offers programs and services through Brampton and Mississauga chapters, including:

support groups
wandering person registry/Safely Home Program
friendly visiting
public education
adult day programs
respite care
support for families and caregivers
resource centre
volunteer program
special events/fundraising

The Society offers day programs at 4 locations:

Brampton Day Centre and Evelyn's Place in Brampton * Meadowvale Day Centre, Sam McCallion Day Centre and Brunel Road Day Centre in Mississauga

Also offers an overnight respite program, Nora's House, which provides care for persons suffering from Alzheimer's disease

First Link Program: Referral program to provide individuals with Mild Cognitive Impairments (MCI), Alzheimer's disease and related dementias, and their caregivers with education and support as early as possible in the disease process and throughout the continuum of the disease * individuals and families are connected with support from a Counsellor when a First Link Referral is made by a health care professional or community agency * Counsellors offer individuals and families information regarding the disease, service/resources that are available, educational opportunities and link with an Outreach Counsellors for long-term support
