Description (Service) Family Services
Child, Youth and Parenting
Supportive counselling for parents and families dealing with cultural and inter-generational conflict * culturally and linguistically responsive * system navigational support, linkages to resources for youth and families experiencing the challenges of conflict over social norms, family violence/breakdown, mental health, developmental disability and settlement

Community Mental Health Support
Housing and Support in Peel (HASP) is a partnership with Supportive Housing in Peel (SHIP) * housing support services to clients residing in SHIP units including case management, service coordination and person-centred support to residents

Family Court Support Services
Support to victims of domestic violence navigating the family court system * helps clients understand their rights to make informed decisions on matters related to custody, child support, spousal support, and division of property and assets * safety planning and risk assessments, liaison with criminal court, assistance with legal aid applications and appeals, court accompaniment when needed

ACES Program for Women (Advocacy, Counselling, Empowerment & Safety)
Culturally sensitive counselling for women who are victims of domestic/family violence and abuse * crisis intervention, counselling, risk assessment * safety planning, transitional support, workshops, assistance with legal issues and advocacy, referrals to community resources, groups for women to promote wellness and support groups for women and children who have witnessed partner abuse * French service through Fem’aide (see separate listing)

Intersections: Support for 2SLGBTQ+ Newcomers
Drop-in, safe space, with individual counselling and group workshops, settlement information with a 2SLGTBQ+ lens, and strengthened social networks with decrease in isolation * capacity building for service providing agencies through presentations and information sessions to create welcoming communities that address challenges faced by 2SLGBTQ+ newcomers
