Description and Service Details
Description (Service) Works with and for women and girls in the justice system

Offers the following support programs and practical assistance/referral for adult offenders (18 and over) and young offenders (12 and over):
Provides counselling for those convicted of theft/fraud offenses
Anger management programs
Follow-up and aftercare programs for youth
Female youth attendance centre
Court programs for both youth and adults
Offers placement in volunteer community work as an alternative to fines or incarceration
Diversion and alternative measures programs
Operates residences for female offenders (Marjorie Amos Residence, an open-custody female young offender facility and Ellen House, a half-way house for females 18 and over)

Attendance Centres -- provide a comprehensive set of cognitive-behavioural programs and individual support services to empower young women to take control of their lives * the program seeks to address the three main objectives of the Youth Criminal Justice Act: The prevention of youth crime; The use of meaningful consequences; Rehabilitation and reintegration through a relational supportive approach
