Description (Service) Support and development of self-government institutions of Métis people

Training Initiatives:

Community Wellness Worker Program:
* promotes family violence awareness and prevention
* referrals
* support
* case management
* address existing health and wellness issues
* sharing information with health and social agencies
* facilitating community and cultural awareness

* illness prevention
* crisis intervention workshops
* health promotion
* programming for school age children and youth, seniors as well as other identified populations

Community Support Services:
* helps individuals to remain in their homes for as long as possible and to share the responsibility of care provided by informal caregivers
* transportation to medical appointments
* friendly visiting
* caregiver support (which includes support, information, education, referrals to counselling agencies)
* security check/reassurance calls
* aboriginal support (advocacy, referrals, resources)
