Description and Service Details
Description (Service) A hub where people meet to engage in social, recreational, educational, artistic, cultural, and community building opportunities. Programs focus on meeting the needs of children, youth, seniors, low income and vulnerable residents.  
 
Programs include: 
Nourishing Neighbours Food Bank  
 
Free Community Dinner  
* served between 5:30 pm-6:30 pm on the third Thursday of each month September to June 
* everyone is welcome 
 
Alzheimer Society of Brant, Haldiman Norfolk, Hamilton and Halton  
* in-person counselling, support groups and recreation 
 
Arabic Lessons for Youth 
* children learn through interactive activities with play dough, songs and arts and crafts 
 
Bharatham Academy of Indian Dance 
* Indian Classical Dance for children, adults, seniors and those with special needs - all levels of expertise 
 
Boots 'N Spurs Line Dancing 
* weekly evenings of western dancing 
 
Bronte Creek Community Residents' Association (BCCRA) 
* a non-profit association comprised of local residents  
* holds monthly meetings as well as events to benefit the community 
 
Centre for Skills Development  
* one-on-one support from an employment advisor for job searches, résumé writing, interview skills, career advice, Second Career funding and connecting with employers 
 
Classical Martial Arts Centre 
* for men, women, and children in goju ryu karate and tai chi  
 
Do-Re-Mi and My Baby 
* a musical baby and toddler drop in program 
* encourages a love of music while helping babies reach their developmental milestones 
 
Girl Guides of Canada - Division 114 
* girls ages 5-17 enjoy camping, travel, educational activities and community service 
 
Hopedale Montessori School  
* a government licensed child care centre serving the Palermo area with full-day and half-day programs 
 
Oakville Parent Child Centre 
* offers "Mother Goose" - a free drop-in program for parents and infants with songs, music and rhymes  
 
Mind Forward (formerly Peel Halton Dufferin Acquired Brain Injury Services) 
* provides community based rehabilitation and support for adults whose lives have been touched by acquired brain injury 
* programs held Monday to Friday 
 
Piano lessons for children and adults  
 
Seniors for Seniors 
* provides seniors supported through Community Living Oakville and seniors who do not have a developmental disability opportunities to socialize, learn, have fun and make friends 
 
ROCK - LGBTQ+ Youth Drop in  
* drop in centre that provides activities and services for youth who are looking for a safe and supportive environment 
 
TEACH  
* peer supported initiative for individuals ages 16 and older who have experienced mental health or substance use challenges and have interacted with the mental health system 
 
e2 Young Engineers of Oakville-Mississauga 
* children learn basic principles of science, technology, engineering, math and physics by building Lego models
