Description and Service Details
Description (Service) Aims to develop effective working relationships with educational groups, professionals, organizations and government to ensure that dyslexic individuals, particularly those who are in the school system, are supported so they can thrive through their educational experience. 
Objectives include: 
* a universal definition and understanding of dyslexia as it relates to education in Ontario 
* mandatory teacher training on dyslexia, it's warning signs and intervention strategies 
* mandatory early screening tests for dyslexia 
* mandatory and effective remediation programs that can be accessed by general, gifted and special education students 
* access to appropriate and effective assistive technologies within the classroom for students with dyslexia
Hours Meet on the 1st Sat of the month in Oakville from 1 pm-4 pm at Queen Elizabeth Park Community and Cultural Centre
