Credits and Benefits: 
Canada Child Tax Benefit (CCTB) 
* a tax-free monthly payment made to eligible families to help with the cost of raising children under age 18 
* CCTB may include the National Child Benefit Supplement (NCBS), a monthly benefit for low-income families with children, and the Child Disability Benefit (CDB), a monthly benefit providing financial assistance for qualified families caring for children with severe and prolonged mental or physical impairments 
 
Universal Child Care Benefit (UCCB) 
* designed to help Canadian families, as they try to balance work and family life, by supporting their child care choices through direct financial support 
* for children under the age of 6 years and is paid in installments of $100 per month per child 
 
Working Income Tax Benefit (WITB) 
* a refundable tax credit intended to provide tax relief for eligible working low income individuals and families who are already in the workforce and to encourage other Canadians to enter the workforce 
 
Goods and Services Tax/Harmonized Sales Tax (GST/HST) Credit 
* a tax-free quarterly payment that helps individuals and families with low and modest incomes offset the cost of the GST/HST they have paid
