| Description (Service) | An early learning initiative providing all licensed childcare programs in Halton region with the opportunity to participate in a developmental model for quality improvement. Quality First supports licensed child care programs by providing coaching and consultation, on-site observations by a Quality First consultant, Professional Learning, self-reflection activities, and support from a consultant to develop goals Includes participation from various sectors of childcare community (non-profit childcare, commercial childcare, nursery school programs) Licensed Child Care Programs: * support capacity building for educators * supported through observations of program, professional learning opportunities for educators and supervisors, with on going self-reflection and goal setting * receive resources and contact from Quality First Consultant For Parents: * initiative within Halton providing support to early childhood programs and educators * Quality First Consultants and participating centres work together to identify quality improvement processes and actions that will positively affect children, families, and early childhood professionals * executed over a 3.5 year period with annual support |
