DescriptionThe branches of the Oakville Public Library offer a number of programs for children and youth throughout the year, including special summer programs and PD Day events. 
Regular programs are booked through the Town of Oakville IRIS system, see the website for details. 
 
Every Child Ready To Read is an initiative which helps ensure that all children in our community will have the six pre-reading skills they need to learn to read.  
 
Current offerings include: 
Preschool Programs 
* Baby's First Storytime 6-12 months 
* Born to Read birth-6 months 
* Giggles, Glitter and Glue 2-3 years 
* Toddler Storytime 1-2 years  
Ready, Set, Grow (unparented) 3-5 years 
* Science Kids (unparented) 3-5 years * parents must remain in the library during the program time 
 
Drop-in Programs 
* Croque-Matin (en francais) birth-5 years 
* Family Storytime children of all ages and parents or caregivers 
 
Queen Elizabeth Park Community and Cultural Centre Storytime 
* children of all ages and parents or caregivers 
* this is a parented drop-in program 
 
Not all programs are available at all locations. 
 
Community Outreach 
Book Nooks/Book Depots were created to provide access to library books in non library environments * lending works on the honour system so no library card is required: 
* YMCA * Kerr Street Ministries * Oak Park Neighbourhood Centre * Halton Multicultural Council * Kids & Me, Dorval Apartments * Oakville Parent-Child Centre, Sixth Line and North Service Road locations * Bronte Youth Centre (Book Depot) * Oakville Youth Centre (Book Depot) * Queen Elizabeth Park Community Centre (Teen Book Depot) 
 
Christmas programs
