Oversees the administration and prosecution of provincial offences charges and the collection of fine payments for all provincial offences charges issued in Halton. Provincial Offences fines may be paid: * online with Mastercard or Visa through paytickets.ca (24 hr service) * by telephone with Mastercard or Visa by calling 905-637-1274 during open hours * in person (by cash, cheque, debit, MasterCard or Visa) at the Provincial Offences Courthouse during open hours * by mail (by cheque, Mastercard or Visa) to address on the back of ticket (complete the payment slip and enclose with payment) Note that many online services are also available by email at burlingtoncourt@burlington.ca or online at haltoncourtservices.ca Provincial offences court services deal with non-criminal provincial offences charges issued in Halton, including: * Highway Traffic Act offences, such as speeding, driving without insurance or failing to stop at a red light * municipal bylaw offences, such as excessive noise, animal control or garbage disposal * offences under provincial legislation such as the Environmental Protection Act, the Occupational Health and Safety Act, the Dog Owners' Liability Act or the Trespass to Property Act Provincial offences may be laid by Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS), Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Ministry of Transportation of Ontario (MTO), Municipal Bylaw Enforcement Officers, Ministry of Labour, Ministry of Finance, etc. No small claims, criminal charges or family law matters are administered at the courthouse |
