Description (Service) | Services altered in response to COVID-19 (Coronavirus) The treatment program is temporarily suspended until July 2020 as we are changing the model of delivery and a new curriculum. All other services are in operation - slight modifications for physical distancing and virtual support for aftercare. ----------------------------------------------------- Offers a safe, caring atmosphere for women using substances, in crisis related to their substance use, at risk of relapsing, seeking treatment and housing options. * admissions are voluntary * referrals made locally, regionally, provincially * direct primary care support is provided for those who do not have a physician * direct hospital support provided for medical and psychiatric emergencies as the service is non-medical * safe supportive environment * telephone support available 24/7 * information and education sessions related to addiction * individual counselling for assessment and referral * 5-week treatment program * family education group * Taking Steps (pre-treatment group) and Aftercare program weekly * Womankind is part of the women's shelter system in Hamilton Withdrawal Management: * a non-medical crisis centre for women who are intoxicated or withdrawing from alcohol or other substances * offers a safe, caring atmosphere in which women can withdraw from substances and be referred to services and addiction treatment as appropriate * referrals are accepted from the women directly and other community professionals Treatment: * five week treatment program includes eight residential beds and four day spots * Provincial assessment tool and phone assessments are required to determine admission * call 905-521-9591 ext 237 for further details Aftercare and Taking Steps: * call 905-521-9591 ext 240 for further details Addiction Supportive Housing Program: * to make a referral call 905-521-9591 ext 234 The Red Book of Hamilton contains extensive information and listings for St. Joseph's Healthcare. |
