Description and Service Details
Description (Service) The Training Campus is a state-of-the-art facility, designed to train and improve the skills of firefighters. 
 
The Training Campus includes: 
* Training Division offices and classrooms  
* multi-use practical training campus  
* realistic and practical simulations allow crews to respond to fire, rescue and medical scenarios in and around a simulated streetscape  
 
The six-acre facility features:  
* live burning tower  
* driver training area  
* water rescue pond  
* working traffic lights  
* hydro poles  
* manholes  
* level railway crossing  
 
Simulations allow firefighters to gain real-life experience in a controlled setting. Possible simulations available at this facility include:  
 
* firefighting and rescue  
* technical rope rescue  
* water and ice rescue  
* auto extrication  
* confined space rescue  
* hazardous materials response  
* emergency medical  
 
The Training Campus creates a community based facility capable of realistic, multi-company drills for fire personnel, and larger scale emergency simulations for other emergency services. Organizations currently using the facility include outside fire and emergency services, accredited educational institutions, and local industry and business.
