Description and Service Details
Description (Service) The organization works to protect and enhance nature and promote a greener Oakville. 
* to ensure human health and the health of the environment is protected 
* to have all levels of government adopt sustainability as their guiding principle 
* to ensure that the biodiversity of native plants and animals is protected and enhanced 
* to ensure that development is ecologically responsible 
* to raise public awareness about local environmental issues and to foster citizen participation 
Activities include: 
* presentations to community groups 
* environmental presentations, based on the Ontario Science curriculum, delivered to school groups 
* environmental stewardship opportunities for businesses/corporations 
* a Living with Coyotes presentation that teaches what to do if encountering a coyote - suitable all age groups 
* tree plantings in spring and fall  
* consultation re schoolyard naturalization, pollinator patches 
* tree and trail nature tours by foot, bike or bus 
* OCAYS (Youth Stewardship Group) , Corporate Greening Days, MulchFest, Native Tree and Pollinator Garden Kit sales in Spring, Backyard Tree Planting Program (suspended until further notice)
