Description and Service Details
Description (Service) An historical home constructed by Charles Sovereign between 1825 and 1846.  
* occupied by one of Canada's famous authors, Mazo de la Roche, from 1910-1915 
* saved from demolition by the Bronte Historical Society in 1988 and the Town of Oakville  
* moved from its original location on Shoreline Dr to Bronte Bluffs Park 
* copy of the Sovereign journals, which contain detailed insight into the construction of the house, is available on location  
* owned by the Town of Oakville 
* operated as a heritage display centre for local history by the Bronte Historical Society 
* showcases artifacts related to the builder, the lifestyles of the 1800s and Bronte Harbour 
* rotating exhibits and surrounding gardens cultivated in the 1910 style with lakeside walkways 
* Art On The Bluffs, showcase of local artists, hosted in the North Wing of Sovereign House
