Description and Service Details
Description (Service) Community Gardens 
* garden plots for lease May-October on a first-come first-served basis  
* Spring rototilling 
* water and disposal bins available on site  
 
Park Ambassador Program  
* registered individuals, groups or businesses  
* pledge a commitment to "adopt" a specific trail or park for a minimum of two years 
* keep them litter free year round  
* groups adopting a trail or park are recognized by a sign at the entrance to the trail or park site after one year 
 
Goose Management Program  
Egg Oiling Program:  
* concentrates on nests on Lake Ontario shoreline, in the Bronte and Oakville harbours and along the Sixteen Mile, Fourteen Mile and Twelve Mile creeks  
* contact the Parks Department in early March if goose egg oiling is required  
* eggs are oiled with mineral oil to prevent hatching and control/reduce the local population 
Relocation: 
* by permit from the Canadian Wildlife Service, Town crews round up and relocate approximately 1000 geese every June to the Aylmer Wildlife Sanctuary

Median and Boulevard Sponsorship Program 
* offers the opportunity to adopt floral display beds throughout Town with approved advertising space * visit the website or call 905-845-6601 for more information  
 
Gate and Park Access  
* approval is required before installing a gate in a Town fence separating private property and active parkland (fee applies)  
* gates are not permitted between private property and natural parkland 
* if access is needed through a park or other Town owned lands with materials or equipment for projects on private land, a permit will be required (fee applies)  
* a damage deposit may also be required
