Description and Service Details
Description (Service) * Six ensembles: Cherubs * Intermediate * Senior * Chamber * Little Notes * Boys and Young Men's Choir: A Few Good Men 
 
* performs several concerts annually 
* performs at workshops  
* makes guest appearances at community functions  
* collaborates with other choirs in Ontario  
 
Programs include: 
Oakville Children's Choir Preparatory Choir Program (Little Notes): 
* September-May for ages 4-6 years 
* fun and enriching introduction to choral singing through song, games, rhythm and Orff instruments  
 
Cherub Choir: 
* for grades 2 to 4 
* children are introduced to basics of choral singing and music theory 
* weekly one-hour rehearsal 
* weekly musicianship and theory 
* several annual performances including self produced concerts 
* no out-of-town travel 
* Cherub choristers may expect to miss an average of two half-days of school 
 
Intermediate Choir: 
* for boys and girls in grade 4 and up 
* choir rehearses weekly for 1.25 hours  
* weekly theory and musicianship programs 
* participates in all OCC concerts, choral retreats and workshop 
* performs at several community events 
* participates in competitions with some traveling within Ontario 
 
The Senior Choir 
* for grades 7 and up 
* members are required to have sight singing skills and vocal experience 
* weekly two-hour rehearsals, sectionals, theory, individual vocal coaching and musicianship programs  
* begins each season with the annual choral retreat weekend 
* choristers must commit to numerous local and out-of-town performance opportunities 
* undertakes a major tour every other year with the next tour taking places in summer of 2014  
 
The Chamber Choir: 
* a select group of choristers from the Senior Choir who have attained a higher level of vocal skill and musicianship 
* members are frequently called upon to serve as ambassadors for the community and leaders within the organization 
* small group which performs extensively and receives more opportunities to travel 
 
A Few Good Men (Boys and Young Men's Choir): 
* newest choir for ages 7-14 
* for boys from Cherub, Intermediate and Senior Choirs and singers with changed voices 
* provides the opportunity to continue singing in a safe, supportive and exciting environment 
* rehersals intersperse time spent on singing technique and repertoire 
* team building activities focusing on creating strong camaraderie between the boys and young men who will provide mentorship in the ensemble

Dates Option 1: Auditions in the Spring for all choirs for Sep-May session 
Option 2: Auditions in Dec/Jan for Prep, Cherub, Intermediate and AFGM for Jan-May session
