Description (Service) The Foundation uses evidence based research to continuously assess and focus to understand Oakville’s areas of greatest need, in order to inform grant making efforts 
* also involved in Direct Community Programs, Strategic Grants and Program Related Investing 
 
Charitable Endowment Funds 
* helps individuals, families, companies and other organizations to set up 
* each year, grants are issued from these endowment funds, and are directed to charities supporting the areas of arts & culture, education, environment, health & well-being, social services and youth leadership 
* grants given to those organizations making the greatest impact in our community 
 
Direct Community Programs 
* Community Classroom, a free curriculum based programming targeting 22,000 students from junior kindergarten to Grade 8 for arts, culture, environment and heritage 
* Youth Philanthropy, a program designed to introduce secondary school students to philanthropy 
* Belong Oakville, a one day free open doors initiative, based on Belonging research conducted in 2017 
 
Strategic Grants 
* BeCause Oakville, The Foundation’s research-based, solution driven granting program allowing for larger grants and longer-term commitments to the Halton Children’s Aid Society and Home Suite Hope  
 
Program Related Investing 
* to amplify the strategic research and programming directions of The Foundation specifically Vital Signs (Equity Gap, Housing, Inclusion and Mental Health), Belonging, BeCause initiatives, Youth Initiatives, Community Funds (Environment, Heritage, Truth & Reconciliation, etc) or other priorities set by the Board 
 
Halton Granter’s Roundtable 
* a network of organizations that provide financial support for charitable causes within the Halton region 
* created to identify ways to collaborate, address priority needs in the community and create a more substantive impact to benefit local charities and the people they serve
