Description and Service Details
Description (Service) Provides counselling and resources for people before and during pregnancy, and after the birth of their baby up to age six. 
 
Preconception, Prenatal and Perinatal Support  
* promotes prenatal, child and parental mental health and provides support and referral for families experiencing a perinatal mood disorder  
* offers preconception resources, access to prenatal education online, in face-to-face group sessions and through the Halton Prenatal Nutrition Program 
* offers prenatal courses  
 
Breastfeeding Support 
* Halton Breastfeeding Connection offers free mother-to-mother telephone support * mothers are linked to other mothers who provide support and encouragement during their breastfeeding experience 
* breastfeeding information and support  
 
Parenting Support  
*delivers the provincial Healthy Babies Healthy Children (HBHC) program by providing information and support for parents-to-be and families with children (up to transition to school). Services may include referral to other services or to the HBHC ongoing home visiting program through which a Public Health Nurse and Family Home Visitor provide education, support and Service Coordination as needed  
* parenting programs and support groups (e.g., ASK, Nobody‚Äôs Perfect, Parenting with LOVE and Neighbourhood Groups)  
 
* car seat safety promotion and workshops 
 
* telephone information advice and referral services
