Description and Service Details
Description (Service) Settlement program provides services to enable immigrants and refugees to integrate into Canadian society including orientation programs, language and skills training to help facilitate employment, and programs to welcome newcomers to the community 
 
Reception: 
* providing newcomers, upon arrival in Canada, with information in both official languages 
 
Needs assessment: 
* align the service offered by service providers to the needs of the newcomer 
 
Referral to community services: 
* provide links between eligible clients and specific settlement needs available in the community  
 
Interpretation/translation: 
* to facilitate interaction between the newcomer and the community prior to their obtaining a basic knowledge of one of the official languages 
* assist the newcomer's access to other services including documents for employment, education, and legal matters that are necessary for immediate settlement  
 
Solution-focused counselling: 
* short term guidance and support in adjusting to life in Canada and resolving difficulties 
 
Employment related services: 
* prepare clients to actively seek employment by assisting them in obtaining required certification of education and/or trade documents 
 
Service bridging: 
* assist broader community services to serve newcomers, develop cooperative relationships to build an integrated service delivery model so people can easily find the most appropriate service provider 
 
* Canadian Citizenship workshops at all locations
