Description and Service Details
Description (Service) Offers literacy, numeracy and essential skills services to assist in transitioning to employment, apprenticeship, secondary-school credit, post-secondary education or independence.

A full-time/part-time day program is offered and includes: * assessment of current academic skills * assistance with determining appropriate goals * skill development in English, computer literacy, mathematics, employability skills, strategies for success, biology, and chemistry

* courses are offered at the Skills Training Centre campus in Oakville and the Davis campus in Brampton

* free for those 19 or older funded by the Ministry of Advanced Education and Skills Development * program can be personalized to meet individual goals * intakes in September, January, and May

Dates Information sessions for the Upgrading Program: 
Oakville: every Tue at 12 noon at the Skills Training Centre, Room B20  
Brampton: every Tue at 1 pm at the Davis Campus, B132

Eligibility Ages: 19 year(s) and up 
Primarily serves adult learners wanting to improve their literacy and numeracy skills to achieve goals of further education and training, employment or increased independence  
* must have facility in English (and/or French for French programs) and literacy skills below Grade 12 of the Ontario curriculum
