Description* enforces child and domestic support orders and collects support payments for families 
* it also enforces private written agreements that include child or spousal support terms including separation agreements, other domestic contracts and paternity agreements 
* these types of agreements must first be filed with the Ontario Court of Justice, the Superior Court of Justice (Family Court), or their predecessor courts before they can be enforced by the FRO  
 
The following enforcement actions will be taken against those who do not meet their support responsibilities: 
* garnishing money from federal sources (such as income tax refunds and employment insurance benefits) 
* reporting the payor to the credit bureau 
* garnishing the payor's bank account or assets 
* suspending the payor's passport or other federal licences 
* seizing lottery winnings 
* suspending the payor's driver's licence 
* taking the payor to court 
* placing a lien on the payor's personal property 
* issuing a writ of seizure and sale on property the payor owns 
* reporting the payor to their professional or occupational organization 
 
* operates Good Parents Pay: 
a website publishing information regarding parents registered with the Family Responsibility Office who have not made their support payments and cannot be found
