Community Volunteer Income Tax Program (CVITP) 
* community-based outreach program sponsored by the Canada Revenue Agency  
* volunteers donate their time  
* individuals with low income and a simple tax situation are eligible for this free service, at local locations

For low income people only * in general, income ceilings are $30,000 for individuals, $40,000 for couples, and varying levels for families, based on number of children, but these may be flexible for those with special deductions, or who are close to income ceiling * if in doubt, to find out if you're eligible, call Canada Revenue Agency 1-800-959-8281 or ask at income tax clinic
