Description and Service Details
Description (Service) A community orchestra with over 80 amateur and professional members 
 
* guest artist performances 
* presents a series of four subscription concerts at the Oakville Centre for the Performing Arts between October and May 
 
Young People's Concert: 
* a program for full orchestra designed to introduce young people to the thrill of hearing a live orchestral performance 
 
Young Artists Program: 
* supports the development of young musicians in the community  
* scholarships of $1,500 each awarded to musicians under 25 years of age, capable of filling string positions in the orchestra 
 
* Christmas concerts in December featuring the Oakville Children's Choir in two, one-hour concerts 
 
* annual competition for the Kenneth Hollier Award has a prize of $500 
* in alternate years competition is open to local string and non-string players, under 25 years of age 
 
* Developing Artists Awards of $200 granted annually to select individuals
