DescriptionThe Canadian Federation of University Women (CFUW)- Oakville is a volunteer, non-profit branch of a national organization dedicated to the promotion of education, advancement of the status of women, and human rights. General meetings are held each month from September to May, and host a variety of interesting and dynamic guest speakers. Some are open to the public. 
 
CFUW-Oakville members can participate in any number of more than 30 different interest groups which also meet monthly. Some groups meet for discussions on books * current events * international affairs * wealth management * spirituality * or the arts. Other groups enjoy theatre events * gourmet meals * Bridge * crafts * golf * or walking/hiking.  
 
Scholarships and Awards: Each year, CFUW-Oakville presents several monetary awards to graduating female students who are enrolled in full-time studies at post-secondary institutions. There are four categories of awards: University Entrance * Community Service * Performing Arts * Mature Student. Application forms and further details are available from our website and from high school guidance offices throughout Oakville.

EligibilityAll women graduates of accredited institutions recognized by the International Federation of University Women, or women who hold licenses or certificates in fields that now require a degree, such as: nursing * teaching * chartered accountants
