| Description | A non-profit organization committed to improving the quality of life of people with bleeding disorders, and to find a cure. * regional office of Hemophilia Ontario Major services: * provides peer counselling, referrals, patient advocacy and information search * financial assistance for safety helmets and orthotic devices, emergency travel assistance to and from hemophilia medical clinics * provincial newsletter and educational seminars YMCA Camp Wanakita: * provides medically supported program specific to youth with bleeding disorders as part of mainstream camp program AIDS Support Services Program: * provides support, prevention, advocacy, counseling and education Financial Assistance Fund: * provides financial assistance for medical, travel, orthotics, dental, medic alert FIT Program (Families in Touch): * brings families living with a bleeding disorder together to exchange information and offer mutual support through activities geared to family participation Hunter Bishop Comfort Fund: * provides financial assistance for assistive devices (i.e. orthotics), hospital comfort (i.e. TVs, phones) and other items associated with living with a bleeding disorder NEW Program (Now Experience Wellness): * helps promote healthy lifestyle through physical and cultural activities for children and youth with bleeding disorders * awards bursaries to children and youth who begin taking instruction on physical activities, music or art lessons | ||
